Pi Day

Pi Day

On March 14, our primary students joined in the global celebration of Pi Day, a fun event that introduces the mathematical constant π (pi) in an engaging and age-appropriate way. Although pi (3.14) is typically introduced at higher levels, our activities were specially designed to help younger learners explore the concept of circles and patterns in a hands-on and enjoyable manner.

The students participated in a variety of creative and interactive activities throughout the day. They measured and compared circular objects, created beautiful circle-themed art, and learned interesting facts about circles and how pi relates to them. One of the highlights was the “Pi Hunt,” where students searched for hidden circular items around the school and recorded their measurements.

Teachers also incorporated storytelling, simple math games, and even a bit of baking fun to keep the energy high and the learning meaningful. Through these activities, students developed a better appreciation for math in everyday life and had the opportunity to apply what they learned in a playful setting.

Overall, Pi Day was a wonderful blend of learning and fun that sparked curiosity, teamwork, and a love for mathematics in our young learners.
