The Junior Philosopher Reading Program has been actively running in our primary school since 1st March 2025, and it continues to inspire students to read regularly and meaningfully. The program was introduced to promote a love for reading while enhancing English language skills among students in an engaging and inclusive way.
Students are encouraged to read books from either the school’s physical library or the digital library, which is accessible anytime, anywhere. After completing a book, they submit their reading through a Google Form, sharing the book title and a short reflection or key takeaway. This not only helps build comprehension but also encourages students to think critically and express their thoughts clearly.
The program team monitors submissions throughout the year, focusing on reading consistency, depth of engagement, and individual effort. To motivate students further, top readers will be recognised at the end of the submission period.
We’re proud of the growing number of students participating and look forward to seeing more young readers develop into thoughtful and confident learners.
